The Republican Party’s $1.4 million investment to unseat Jahana has started with an attack ad about Jahana’s vote against a Republican drug bill that would have done more harm than good. “My no vote was because this bill didn’t do anything to provide prevention, treatment, recovery, harm reduction, or money for law enforcement,” Hayes said. "I saw what the 1994 crime bill did to decimate communities. I know that we cannot incarcerate our way out of a public health crisis.”
